Salto is an architecture, interior design and engineering studio with offices in Granada, Malaga and Murcia, which after a process of growth and evolution, required a redesign of its identity and visual narrative.

The goal was to capture the studio’s professional evolution in recent years and give it a more global image, aligned with its current position in the industry.

The concept revolves around two fundamental dimensions: strategic rationality and creative emotionality. This duality is reflected in the distinct personalities of Salto’s two founders—Esperanza and Gustavo—and serves as the foundation for a visual system built on typographic contrast, directly embodying this coexistence of approaches.

To visually translate the duality at the core of Salto, we developed two type families: Salto Sans and Salto Serif. Salto Sans is a geometric, contrast-free typeface that conveys solidity, pragmatism, and a distinguished sense of timelessness.
In contrast, Salto Serif is emotional and humanistic, balancing between a classic spirit and a measured sense of disruption, avoiding unnecessary extravagance.

Both Salto Sans and Salto Serif come in two weights—light and regular—available in uppercase and lowercase. To reinforce a unique identity, we incorporated distinctive design details, a full set of numerals, arrows, symbols, and stylistic alternatives inspired by the creative universe of Esperanza and Gustavo.

A key element of the typographic system is the uppercase “S,” conceived as a signature mark of the brand. Beyond its linguistic function, this letter serves as a visual emblem that anchors the message and adds uniqueness to the studio’s identity.

To complement this typographic duality, we also sought to enhance the new narrative with an illustrated layer that embraces corporate environments, elevating them and making them distinctive.

This graphic layer draws from artistic language, reinforcing the studio’s versatility and contemporary vision. It reinterprets a familiar fieldwork element—the reflective strips on safety vests—by shifting the usual perspective from which they are seen. These elements go far beyond mere decoration, adding conceptual depth and strengthening the visual identity as a reflection of Salto’s unique approach.

The result is a versatile, contemporary graphic system that not only communicates a methodology and a way of working but also visually expresses Salto’s distinctive vision of architecture.
